Headquarters Uttarakhand Sub Area bid a proud and heartfelt farewell to Major General Mandeep Pal Singh Gill, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Uttarakhand Sub Area, on his superannuation, marking the culmination of over four decades of distinguished service to the nation.
During his tenure as GOC, Maj Gen Mandeep Pal Singh Gill was associated with several initiatives aimed at strengthening operational preparedness, civil-military cooperation and the welfare of veterans and serving personnel. His tenure also witnessed emphasis on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) preparedness, infrastructure development and modernisation of military heritage.
A significant aspect of his tenure was the strengthening of the relationship between the Armed Forces and the civil administration and people of Uttarakhand. The formation received appreciation from the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand on 15 August 2026, reflecting the continued engagement and enduring connect between the Armed Forces and the people of the state.
As part of his farewell engagements, Maj Gen Gill paid solemn homage to the Bravehearts at Shaurya Sthal, honouring the personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation.
He also visited the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), reaffirming the enduring association between the Armed Forces and institutions that contribute to nurturing future generations of military leadership.
