Manesar, September 4, 2026: The National Security Guard (NSG) has marked a significant milestone in women empowerment with the commencement of its Pioneer Mahila Commando Conversion Course (MCCC-01) at the NSG Training Academy.
The Director General, National Security Guard, addressed the women trainees undergoing the pioneering course during a visit to the academy on September 3, 2026, highlighting the NSG’s focus on developing highly trained and mission-ready women personnel capable of taking on demanding operational responsibilities.
The 12-week gruelling Mahila Commando Conversion Course commenced on August 24, 2026, at the NSG Training Academy. The programme is aimed at providing the trainees with specialised skills, physical conditioning, tactical proficiency and mental resilience associated with the elite counter-terrorism force.
Addressing the trainees, the NSG Director General outlined his vision of empowering women personnel through rigorous training and transforming them into mission-ready national assets capable of leading from the front.
The initiative represents an important step towards expanding the role of women in specialised security and counter-terrorism training while strengthening their contribution to national security and nation-building.
During the visit, the Director General also witnessed a Combat Shooting Demonstration alongside the Mahila trainees. The demonstration showcased the precision, speed and reflex action of instructors from the NSG Training Academy, giving the trainees an insight into the standards of combat proficiency expected during specialised training.
The NSG Training Academy is responsible for imparting advanced training in counter-terrorism, close-quarter battle, combat shooting and other specialised skills required for high-risk security operations. The Mahila Commando Conversion Course will expose the trainees to an intensive training environment over the course of 12 weeks.
The launch of MCCC-01 adds another dimension to the increasing participation of women personnel in demanding roles across India’s security forces. Successful completion of the course is expected to equip the trainees with enhanced tactical and operational capabilities suited to specialised assignments.
Emphasising confidence, determination and leadership among the trainees, the NSG summed up the spirit of the initiative with the message:
“शेरनी क्या करती है? उठती है! बढ़ती है!! और LEAD करती है!!”
The pioneer batch of the Mahila Commando Conversion Course represents both a training milestone for the NSG and a broader effort to empower women personnel to take on greater responsibilities in India’s national security architecture.
