Roorkee, October 24, 2024: In a significant step towards digital transformation, administrative efficiency and personnel welfare, the Bengal Sappers inaugurated the Bengal Sappers Data Hub and SAMADHAAN at the Bengal Engineer Group (BEG) Centre in Roorkee on October 24, 2024.
The two initiatives were inaugurated by Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya, SM, VSM, Colonel Commandant of the Bengal Sappers and Military Survey, marking an important milestone in the regiment’s efforts to modernise administrative processes and strengthen support systems for serving personnel, veterans and their dependents.
The Bengal Sappers Data Hub has been developed to facilitate the digitisation and efficient management of service records and official documents. The initiative aims to replace conventional record-management practices with a more organised, accessible and reliable digital system.
By improving the accuracy, transparency and accessibility of personnel records, the Data Hub is expected to support timely promotions, effective career management and faster administrative decision-making. It will also help streamline documentation processes and reduce delays associated with traditional record handling.

Alongside the Data Hub, the Bengal Sappers introduced SAMADHAAN, a dedicated initiative designed to strengthen grievance redressal mechanisms for serving soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents.
SAMADHAAN aims to ensure that grievances are addressed through a transparent, systematic and time-bound process. The system emphasises effective monitoring, accountability and timely resolution, helping personnel and their families receive appropriate administrative assistance.

The initiative is particularly significant for veterans and dependents who may require assistance with service-related matters, documentation and other administrative concerns. By establishing a structured grievance-management mechanism, the Bengal Sappers seek to improve responsiveness and strengthen confidence in institutional support systems.

Together, the Bengal Sappers Data Hub and SAMADHAAN reflect the regiment’s commitment to embracing modern technology while prioritising the welfare of its personnel and veterans.
The initiatives also align with the Indian Army’s broader emphasis on digital empowerment, transparent governance and improved administrative efficiency.
With the introduction of these systems at BEG Centre, Roorkee, the Bengal Sappers have taken another important step towards building a more efficient, accountable and digitally empowered military administration, reinforcing their commitment to serving soldiers and their families both during and after military service.
