Brigadier R Shankar, Commander Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area (COSA), interacted with the Governor of Chhattisgarh, Shri Ramen Deka, at Lok Bhawan, with discussions centred on strengthening support for the veteran community across the state.
During the interaction, the two sides discussed ongoing state initiatives for the welfare, rehabilitation and resettlement of veterans and their families. The engagement also covered opportunities to further strengthen institutional coordination and expand the reach of welfare measures.
The discussions focused on measures aimed at supporting veterans and their families and ensuring that existing welfare initiatives reach the intended beneficiaries across the state.

Brig R Shankar also discussed avenues for strengthening coordination between the military authorities and the civil administration on matters concerning the veteran community. The interaction provided a platform to discuss ways of further improving institutional cooperation in support of veterans.
