New Delhi, October 15, 2026: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) conducted an anti-hijacking mock drill at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi to assess operational preparedness, response time and tactical readiness in handling potential aircraft hijacking situations.
The exercise was aimed at evaluating the ability of security personnel to respond swiftly and effectively to aviation security threats while ensuring coordination among various response teams.
During the mock drill, CISF personnel participated in simulated emergency scenarios designed to test their preparedness and ability to handle potential hijacking incidents. The exercise focused on operational efficiency, tactical response capabilities and coordination among security teams during high-risk situations.
The drill also provided an opportunity to assess existing security response mechanisms and reinforce the importance of effective communication and coordinated action during aviation emergencies.

As the primary agency responsible for security at major airports across India, the CISF plays a crucial role in safeguarding passengers, airport infrastructure and aviation operations against potential security threats.

Regular mock drills and preparedness exercises form an important part of the force’s efforts to maintain high standards of aviation security and ensure that personnel remain equipped to respond to evolving threats.

The latest exercise at IGI Airport reinforced the CISF’s commitment to strengthening aviation security through continuous training, operational preparedness and swift, coordinated responses to potential emergencies.
