Srinagar, October 18: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable allegedly died by suicide inside a camp in the Manasbal area of Ganderbal district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, officials said.
Constable Ranjit Das, a resident of Hajo Tehsil in Kamrup district of Assam, allegedly used a nylon rope to hang himself within the CRPF camp at Manasbal. His body has been sent for medico-legal formalities.
Officials stated that the reasons that prompted Das to take the extreme step were not immediately known. The incident was reported from Srinagar, and multiple media outlets carried the information citing official sources.
