Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander, Northern Command, chaired a comprehensive Security Review and Coordination Meeting in Srinagar to assess the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and coordination mechanisms among various stakeholders.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders involved in the security architecture of the region, providing a platform for a detailed assessment of the current security environment and the preparedness of security forces to respond to emerging challenges. The discussions focused on maintaining a high level of operational readiness and ensuring effective coordination among agencies operating in the region.
During the meeting, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma reviewed inputs related to the prevailing security situation and assessed the measures being undertaken to address potential threats. The discussions also covered operational preparedness, response mechanisms and the effectiveness of existing coordination arrangements among the participating agencies.
Lt Gen Sharma emphasised the importance of enhanced inter-agency synergy in strengthening the overall security framework. He stressed that seamless coordination between different security and intelligence agencies remains critical for developing a comprehensive understanding of the security environment and responding swiftly to emerging situations.

The Army Commander also reiterated the need for real-time intelligence sharing among stakeholders. Timely dissemination and integration of actionable intelligence, he noted, are essential for enabling security forces to anticipate threats, improve situational awareness and undertake coordinated responses.
The meeting further underlined the importance of integrated coordination and joint operational preparedness. Effective information exchange and close cooperation among agencies can facilitate faster decision-making, improve response times and enhance the effectiveness of joint operations.
