Ranikhet, October 28, 2025 — A team led by Commander Ronie Chowpoo, Commanding Officer of INS Khanjar, attended the 37th Biennial Battalion Commanders’ Conference of the Kumaon and Naga Regiments, held on 27–28 October 2025 at the Kumaon Regimental Centre, Ranikhet. The participation of the Eastern Naval Command’s frontline warship underscored the enduring bond and inter-service cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Indian Army.

Naval Presence at a Historic Regimental Event

INS Khanjar, part of the Eastern Sword (Sunrise Fleet), holds a proud affiliation with the Kumaon Regiment, Naga Regiment, and Kumaon Scouts, three of the most decorated and battle-hardened infantry formations of the Indian Army. The presence of Commander Ronie Chowpoo and his team symbolized the Navy’s deep respect for its regimental counterparts and reaffirmed the spirit of unity across the armed forces.

A Gathering of Serving Officers and Veterans

The two-day conference witnessed the participation of Commanding Officers from all battalions of the Kumaon and Naga Regiments, along with senior serving officers and distinguished veterans.
