In a shocking incident onboard the BikanerโJammu Tawi Sabarmati Express, an Army jawan was stabbed to death following an argument with a train attendant over a bedsheet. The deceased soldier has been identified as Jignesh Chaudhary, who was posted in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, the altercation began when the jawan asked the attendant for a bedsheet. The situation quickly escalated, leading to a heated exchange. The accused, identified as Zubair Memon, allegedly attacked Chaudhary with a knife inside the AC coach, stabbing him in the leg. The injury caused severe bleeding, and the jawan later succumbed to his wounds.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday night as the train was en route. Bikaner Railway Police have arrested the accused and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder.
Officials stated that the deceased had boarded the train from Firozpur Cantt and was travelling home to Sabarmati, Gujarat after completing his duty in Udhampur.
Earlier this year, a similar tragedy struck when 27-year-old soldier Vikrant Gurjar from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was shot dead while on leave to testify in a murder case.
The latest incident has sparked outrage and grief, highlighting concerns over the safety and discipline aboard passenger trains, especially involving service personnel.
