Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Western Air Command, conducted a detailed review of operational preparedness during his visit to two forward air bases in the western sector.
In a strong display of leadership-by-example, the Air Marshal flew an operational mission in a Su-30 MKI, Indiaโs frontline multi-role air dominance fighter. The sortie highlighted the combat readiness, agility and mission capability of Su-30 MKI units deployed along the western front.

Honouring a Legend: Memorial to Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC
As part of the visit, Air Marshal Mishra inaugurated a newly established memorial dedicated to Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, the Indian Air Forceโs only Param Vir Chakra awardee. The memorial honours his unparalleled bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and stands as a lasting inspiration for all air warriors.

Interacting with personnel at the bases, he appreciated their professionalism, strong work ethic and commitment to duty. He also lauded their round-the-clock efforts in maintaining high operational efficiency in a strategic region.
