Major General Vikas Lal assumed command as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Paschim Madhya Pradesh Sub Area, during a solemn ceremony marked by dignity and tradition. On the occasion, he paid homage to the nationโs bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of India.
On taking over, Maj Gen Vikas Lal addressed all ranks and emphasised the need to remain operationally ready at all times, strengthen logistics preparedness, and enhance Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) coordination with civil administration and agencies. He underlined the importance of seamless civilโmilitary cooperation, especially during emergencies and natural disasters.
The GOC also reaffirmed the Indian Armyโs enduring commitment towards the welfare of Ex-Servicemen, Veterans, Veer Naris, and their families, stressing that their well-being and dignity remain a core responsibility of the Army.
The assumption of command reflects the Indian Armyโs tradition of smooth leadership transition and continued focus on operational effectiveness, welfare, and service to the nation.
