The Indian Armyโs elite Special Forces units 4 PARA (SF) and 9 PARA (SF) have been awarded the prestigious Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Unit Appreciation for their exemplary performance during Operation Sindoor, recognising exceptional courage, operational excellence, and mission success under challenging conditions.
4 PARA (SF): Precision, Courage and Leadership
4 PARA (SF) received the Unit Appreciation for its decisive and high-impact role during Operation Sindoor. The honour was received by Colonel Rohit Suri, Kirti Chakra, the Commanding Officer of the battalion, along with Subedar Major Sanjay Bisht.

9 PARA (SF): Operational Brilliance Under Fire
9 PARA (SF) was also conferred the COAS Unit Appreciation for its outstanding operational achievements during Operation Sindoor. The award was received by Colonel Deepak Kumar Upadhyay, Shaurya Chakra, the Commanding Officer of 9 PARA (SF), along with Subedar Major Pafam Subbah.
