Twenty-nine student officers of the Long Gunnery Staff Course (LGSC), accompanied by three Directing Staff and led by Maj Gen VM Dhumne from the School of Artillery, visited INS Dronacharya on 02–03 February 2026.
The visit provided an opportunity for professional interaction between two premier gunnery institutions of the Indian Army and the Indian Navy. Discussions focused on enhancing inter-service interoperability, strengthening joint warfighting capabilities, and exchanging best practices in gunnery training, firepower employment, and modern combat methodologies.

During the interaction, emphasis was laid on understanding contemporary challenges in gunnery operations, evolving doctrines, and the integration of technology in modern firepower planning. The exchange of insights and experiences was aimed at fostering deeper cooperation and mutual learning between Army and Navy gunnery professionals.

The visit underscored the growing emphasis on jointness and synergy among the Armed Forces, reinforcing the commitment of the Indian Army and Indian Navy to integrated training and operational excellence in an increasingly complex security environment.
