The Unconventional Warfare Course conducted at the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS), Vairengte, concluded on 2 March 2026 after an intensive and operationally focused training cycle.

The course emphasised refinement of guerrilla tactics, adaptive combat techniques and unconventional methodologies, alongside the integration of new-generation technologies to enhance the potency of the asymmetric grid in complex operational environments.

Major General Kulvir Singh, SM, Commandant, CIJWS, delivered the closing address, highlighting the dynamic and evolving nature of modern warfare. He encouraged trainees to adopt an innovative, unconventional and bold mindset to prevail in fluid multi-domain operations of the present and future.

Demonstrating exceptional cohesion, tactical acumen and professionalism, the team of 1 BIHAR was adjudged the best team of the course.
The successful conduct of the programme reaffirmed CIJWS Vairengte’s critical role in shaping highly adaptable and future-ready soldiers capable of excelling in counter-insurgency and jungle warfare operations.
