Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander of Northern Command, visited Shahsitar in Poonch and Hanjanwali in the Rajouri Sector to review the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the current intelligence grid, operational deployment and capability enhancement measures being implemented to strengthen counter-terrorism efforts in the sensitive border areas.
Officials highlighted various initiatives aimed at improving situational awareness, intelligence coordination and operational readiness, which are critical for sustaining operations in the complex security environment of Jammu and Kashmir.
Lt Gen Sharma commended the troops for maintaining high morale, professionalism and unwavering dedication while operating under challenging conditions.
The visit reflects Northern Command’s continued focus on strengthening operational preparedness and ensuring effective counter-terrorism operations to maintain peace and stability in the region.
