Lance Naik Vikas Kumar of the Indian Army, who lost his life in an avalanche in Sikkim, was laid to rest with full military honours at his native village in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.

Emotional Farewell in Native Village

  • The mortal remains of the 27-year-old soldier were brought to Gankot village (Sukoli)
  • Thousands gathered to pay their last respects
  • The final rites were performed by his elder brother

Scenes turned deeply emotional as his wife, Preeti, broke down on seeing the coffin, reflecting the immense personal loss to the family.
