Major General Bharat Mehtani, Additional Director General, PHHP&C Directorate, visited the NCC Group Headquarters in Chandigarh on April 8, 2026, to review training standards and interact with cadets.
The visit commenced with a ceremonial Guard of Honour, followed by a solemn wreath-laying ceremony in tribute to Captain Vikram Batra, who was a former NCC cadet and a Kargil War hero.

During his visit, Maj Gen Mehtani was introduced to officers and received a detailed briefing on the functioning and initiatives of the NCC Group Headquarters. He also toured various training and simulator facilities, where cadets demonstrated their skills and ongoing training activities.
The General Officer interacted with cadets and appreciated their enthusiasm and achievements, particularly recognising meritorious cadets who have brought laurels in various fields.

The visit concluded with an interactive session over tea with officers, staff, and cadets, fostering a spirit of motivation and mentorship.
Maj Gen Mehtani commended the NCC for maintaining high standards of training, discipline, and commitment, and encouraged cadets to continue striving for excellence in service to the nation.

The visit highlights the NCC’s crucial role in shaping future leaders and instilling values of discipline, patriotism, and leadership among the youth.
