A delegation from the Indonesian Army visited the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS), Vairengte, from May 6 to 10, 2026, as part of an ongoing professional military exchange programme.
During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the school’s specialised training methodologies, including physical conditioning, tactical exercises, and operational training practices designed for counter-insurgency and jungle warfare environments.

The visiting officers were also briefed on the training framework of CIJWS and its role in preparing military personnel to tackle contemporary operational challenges in difficult terrain and high-threat conditions.

The interaction provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange professional experiences, operational insights, and best practices related to counter-insurgency operations and combat training.

The visit highlighted the growing defence cooperation and military-to-military engagement between India and Indonesia, fostering mutual understanding, interoperability, and shared learning between the two friendly nations.
