Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), visited NCC Guwahati Group on May 11, 2026, to review training, outreach activities, and overall performance.
Accompanied by Major General Anurag Vij, Additional Director General NCC North Eastern Region (NER), the DG NCC interacted with officers and cadets during the visit.
Lt Gen Vats appreciated the dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm displayed by the cadets and staff, while stressing the importance of futuristic training domains such as cyber security and drone technologies to prepare youth for emerging challenges.
He also reinforced the core NCC values of unity, discipline, leadership, and selfless service towards nation-building, highlighting the organisation’s evolving role in empowering young citizens under the vision of “Naya Bharat ka Naya NCC.”
The visit underscored NCC’s continued efforts to modernise training methodologies while fostering confidence, leadership qualities, and a spirit of national service among the youth.
