A delegation of 40 scientists from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) visited INS Dega to familiarise themselves with various operational and technical aspects of the Indian Navy’s aviation arm.
During the visit, the scientists were briefed on different naval aircraft platforms, their operational capabilities, and the evolving role of DRDO in enhancing indigenisation and technological advancement in naval aviation systems.

The interaction also provided the visiting scientists with firsthand exposure to operational aviation activities and maintenance ecosystems at the naval air station.
The DRDO delegation interacted with men and women personnel of the air station, gaining valuable insights into the operational demands, challenges, and requirements of naval aviation.
The visit underscored the growing synergy between India’s defence research community and the Armed Forces in promoting indigenous capability development and strengthening self-reliance in critical aerospace and defence technologies.
The initiative reflected the spirit of collaboration between science and military capability in support of national development and defence preparedness.
