The missile was launched from an airborne platform under extreme release conditions, successfully validating the performance of all critical subsystems and mission parameters.

According to DRDO, the missile accurately engaged a predefined target with pin-point precision after release. All test objectives were achieved successfully and subsequently verified through flight data captured by a range of tracking and monitoring instruments deployed by the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur.

Indigenous Development

RudraM-II has been developed indigenously by the Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, serving as the nodal laboratory for the project.

The missile programme was executed in collaboration with several DRDO laboratories, including the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) and ITR Chandipur.

Development and production partners, along with agencies such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the Regional Centre for Military Airworthiness and the Missile System Quality Assurance Agency, also played a crucial role in the successful development and testing of the weapon system.

Boost to Aatmanirbhar Bharat

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, the IAF, defence public sector undertakings, development-cum-production partners and industry stakeholders on the successful achievement.

He stated that the successful tests demonstrate the growing maturity of India’s indigenous defence technologies and contribute significantly to the nation’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision in advanced weapon systems.

The missile test was also hailed by DRDO Chairman and Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development, who congratulated all teams associated with the programme for the milestone achievement.

Enhancing Precision Strike Capability

The successful validation of RudraM-II marks another important step in strengthening India’s indigenous air-launched precision strike arsenal. The missile is expected to significantly enhance the Indian Air Force’s capability to engage high-value targets with accuracy while operating in complex combat environments.

The achievement further reinforces India’s growing self-reliance in advanced missile technology and highlights the successful collaboration between DRDO, the armed forces and the domestic defence industry in developing next-generation weapon systems.
