Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), called on Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to discuss key initiatives aimed at strengthening the NCC ecosystem in the state.
The discussions focused on the operationalisation of the NCC Group Headquarters Goa, expansion of NCC units, enhancement of training infrastructure, addressing shortages of civilian staff and the establishment of a permanent NCC Training Centre at Velim.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant assured the state government’s full support for these initiatives, reaffirming Goa’s commitment to promoting youth development, leadership and nation-building through the NCC.
The Director General was accompanied by Air Commodore Kamal Chadha, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate Karnataka & Goa, and Colonel C. Rajashekar, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Belagavi.
The meeting reflects the continued efforts of the NCC and the Goa Government to strengthen training infrastructure and expand opportunities for young cadets, fostering leadership, discipline and national service among the youth.
