Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Reviews Combat Readiness of White Tiger Division at Jhansi

Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Indian Army’s Southern Command, visited the White Tiger Division at Jhansi to review its combat readiness and ongoing capability enhancement initiatives. The visit highlighted the formation’s sustained focus on technological innovation, indigenous capability development and operational excellence in alignment with the Indian Army’s vision of becoming a future-ready force under its Decade of Transformation.

During the visit, the Army Commander was comprehensively briefed on the formation’s operational preparedness and the progressive initiatives being undertaken to strengthen its combat capabilities. Particular emphasis was placed on the induction of New Generation Equipment and the integration of advanced technologies designed to enhance mission effectiveness across diverse operational environments.

Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar reviewed the deployment and operational integration of Artificial Intelligence-enabled systems that are increasingly shaping contemporary military operations. The adoption of AI technologies has emerged as a key component of the Indian Army’s modernisation efforts, enabling enhanced situational awareness, faster decision-making processes and improved operational efficiency across multiple domains of warfare.

The Army Commander was also briefed on the formation’s indigenous innovation initiatives, reflecting the Indian Army’s commitment towards strengthening self-reliance in defence technologies and military capabilities. Indigenous solutions continue to occupy a central role in the Army’s transformation agenda by fostering technological advancement while simultaneously contributing towards the broader national vision of Atmanirbharta in defence manufacturing.

A major highlight of the visit was the review of unmanned platforms and enhanced Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) and Counter-UAS capabilities being developed and employed by the formation. The increasing prominence of unmanned technologies in modern military operations has fundamentally altered the character of contemporary battlefields, making investments in both offensive and defensive unmanned capabilities indispensable for maintaining operational superiority.

The White Tiger Division’s emphasis on strengthening its UAS and Counter-UAS capabilities reflects the Indian Army’s recognition of emerging threats and its proactive efforts to develop adaptive and technologically advanced responses.
