Air Marshal Jasvir Singh Mann, AVSM, VM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Southern Air Command, paid his first official visit to the 2 Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) at Mysuru, where he reviewed the Board’s functioning and interacted with officers and personnel responsible for selecting future officers of the Indian Air Force.
The visit commenced with a detailed briefing on the organisation and functioning of the Selection Board. Senior officers briefed the Air Marshal on the Board’s responsibilities, officer selection methodology, assessment framework and the comprehensive evaluation process designed to identify candidates with the leadership qualities, aptitude and professional potential required for military service.

The briefing also covered the Board’s role in maintaining a transparent, objective and merit-based selection process while adapting assessment techniques to meet the evolving requirements of the Indian Air Force. The Air Marshal was apprised of various initiatives undertaken to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of candidate evaluation and ensure the continued selection of high-quality officers.
