A team from the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, comprising Lieutenant Abhinav Mehrotra and Lieutenant Yashwant Singh, secured a place among the top five teams at the Hackathon conducted during the Future Crime Summit 2026.
The event was organised by the Future Crimes Research Foundation (FCRF), an IIT-Kanpur incubated non-profit organisation, and witnessed participation from more than 500 participants representing various government organisations, technology sectors and security domains. The summit focused on addressing emerging challenges in the field of future crimes through innovation, research and technology-driven solutions.
Lt Abhinav Mehrotra and Lt Yashwant Singh demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, creativity and analytical skills during the competition, competing against participants from diverse professional backgrounds. Their achievement highlighted the strong technological foundation and innovation-oriented training imparted at MCTE.
The hackathon provided a platform for participants to develop solutions addressing complex security challenges, with discussions and activities centred around emerging technologies, cybersecurity, digital threats and future security frameworks. The participation of MCTE officers reflected the Indian Army’s growing focus on leveraging technology and innovation to address evolving operational challenges.
The MCTE team’s performance was recognised with a Certificate of Excellence presented by Professor Triveni Singh, Chief Mentor of the Future Crimes Research Foundation. The award acknowledged their outstanding contribution, technical capabilities and commitment towards developing innovative solutions.
