Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth visited the Headquarters of Western Command to review the formation’s operational preparedness and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing its combat capabilities.
During the visit, General Dhiraj Seth was briefed on the prevailing operational environment and the preparedness of the forces under the command. The briefing also covered ongoing training initiatives and measures being undertaken to further strengthen combat effectiveness.
The Army Chief reviewed the operational posture of Western Command in the context of evolving security challenges and emphasised the importance of maintaining a high level of readiness across formations and units. He stressed the need for forces to remain prepared to respond effectively to emerging operational contingencies.
General Dhiraj Seth underscored the importance of agility and adaptability in modern military operations. He highlighted that rapidly changing technologies and evolving methods of warfare require personnel and formations to continuously refine their operational approaches and enhance their ability to respond to dynamic battlefield situations.
The COAS also emphasised technological empowerment as a key component of future combat readiness. Greater integration of technology into training, planning and operations is expected to strengthen situational awareness, decision-making and overall combat effectiveness.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s focus on developing a technologically enabled and operationally prepared force capable of addressing emerging security challenges across the full spectrum of operations.
General Dhiraj Seth’s interaction with Western Command leadership and personnel also reinforced the importance of continuous capability enhancement, realistic training and a high state of operational preparedness to maintain the Army’s combat edge.
