Assistant Commandant Aishwarya Upadhyay, Team Commander with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), achieved a remarkable endurance feat by successfully completing the Hell Race 120K Ultramarathon in Goa on August 8, 2026.
The 120-kilometre race presented participants with a demanding combination of steep and undulating hills, dense forest stretches, slippery roads, persistent rainfall and high humidity. The course involved approximately 1,800 metres of elevation gain, testing the physical and mental endurance of every participant.
Of the 120 runners who started in the 120K category, only 88 successfully reached the finish line, underlining the extreme difficulty of the event.
The achievement is particularly notable as AC Aishwarya Upadhyay’s longest running distance before the event was 42 kilometres. In his first ultramarathon, he made a significant leap to 120 kilometres, covering nearly three times his previous best distance.
His performance reflects exceptional resilience, discipline, determination and physical fitness. Completing such a demanding course required sustained effort and mental strength while navigating difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions.
The achievement highlights the importance of endurance and physical preparedness among CISF personnel and reflects the resilience and indomitable spirit associated with the force.
