On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, reviewed the ceremonial parade at Visakhapatnam and addressed naval personnel on the occasion.
Addressing the parade, Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla paid tribute to the supreme sacrifices made by the nation’s freedom fighters and all those who contributed to India’s journey towards independence. He highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the responsibility of the Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and security.

The FOC-in-C (East) underscored India’s resolute journey towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and highlighted the pivotal role of the Indian Navy and Eastern Naval Command in contributing towards this national objective.
Vice Admiral Bhalla commended the Command for maintaining a sustained operational tempo and a high state of combat readiness. He emphasised the importance of remaining vigilant and prepared to safeguard India’s maritime interests and protect the nation’s maritime security.

He also acknowledged the strengthening of coastal security measures undertaken by the Command. The Eastern Naval Command has continued to focus on enhancing coordination and preparedness to respond effectively to emerging maritime security challenges.
The FOC-in-C also highlighted the Command’s contribution to Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations, reflecting the Indian Navy’s role in providing timely assistance to communities during natural disasters and other emergencies.
He further appreciated the ongoing efforts to strengthen India’s maritime capabilities through operational preparedness, training and capability enhancement.

Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla commended the naval personnel for their smart turnout, precise drill and exemplary professionalism displayed during the ceremonial parade. He appreciated their discipline and commitment to maintaining the high standards expected of the Indian Navy.
Concluding his address, the FOC-in-C called upon all personnel to remain ever-ready, resolute and unwavering in their commitment to the service of the nation. He urged them to continue discharging their duties with dedication and professionalism while contributing to India’s maritime security and national development.
