Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, students of Scholars Home School, Lucknow, celebrated the cherished bond between citizens and the Armed Forces through a heartfelt gesture of gratitude towards the nation’s soldiers.
The young students tied Rakhis to Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C, Central Command, conveying their affection, respect and appreciation for the soldiers who remain committed to safeguarding the nation.
As part of the initiative, the students also presented 1,200 handcrafted Rakhis for soldiers deployed along the country’s borders. Each Rakhi carried a message of love, prayers for the safety of the troops and gratitude for their courage and selfless service.

The gesture reflected the strong emotional bond between the Armed Forces and the citizens they protect. Through their handcrafted Rakhis, the students sought to convey that the nation’s soldiers remain in the thoughts and prayers of people across the country.
The interaction also provided an opportunity for the young students to express their admiration for the Armed Forces and understand the values of courage, duty, sacrifice and service associated with military life.
The initiative served as a touching reminder that while soldiers remain steadfast in their duty at the nation’s frontiers, citizens continue to stand with them in spirit and extend their support and gratitude.
The Raksha Bandhan celebration highlighted the enduring bond between the people of India and its Armed Forces, with the 1,200 Rakhis symbolising affection, solidarity and the nation’s collective appreciation for those serving far from home.
