The Indian Army continues to encourage and inspire young people from remote border regions by providing them exposure to opportunities and experiences beyond their home areas. As part of this effort, Lt Gen DG Misra, AVSM, General Officer Commanding, Uttar Bharat Area, interacted with young participants of a National Integration Tour at Bareilly.
The National Integration Tour was organised by the Panchshul Gunners with the objective of exposing young minds from border villages to different parts of the country and helping them develop greater confidence, awareness and aspirations for their future.
During the interaction, Lt Gen DG Misra spoke with the participants about their experiences during the tour and encouraged them to transform the knowledge and exposure they had gained into motivation for achieving their goals.
He inspired the youngsters to approach challenges with confidence and determination, emphasising the importance of turning experiences into confidence, challenges into strength and dreams into action.
For students growing up in remote and mountainous border regions, National Integration Tours provide an opportunity to experience life beyond their immediate surroundings. Visits to important cities, institutions and places of national significance can introduce them to educational opportunities, careers and possibilities that may otherwise remain unfamiliar.
The initiative also helps young participants interact with people from different backgrounds and better understand the diversity and scale of the country. Such exposure is intended to strengthen their sense of national integration while encouraging them to think ambitiously about their education and future careers.
The interaction at Bareilly highlighted the Indian Army’s wider engagement with communities living in border and remote areas. Apart from its operational responsibilities, Army formations regularly undertake outreach programmes aimed at supporting students and strengthening connections with local communities.
The National Integration Tour organised by the Panchshul Gunners reflects this approach by giving young people an opportunity to travel, learn and return to their communities with greater confidence and broader aspirations.
The message behind the initiative was simple but powerful: geographical isolation should not determine the limits of a young person’s ambitions. From the mountains of Kumaon to opportunities across the nation, the participants were encouraged to dream bigger, face challenges boldly and work towards turning those dreams into reality.
