The Air Force Families Welfare Association (AFFWA) Headquarters conducted the AFFWA Declamation Contest 2026 at the Air Force Auditorium, Subroto Park, New Delhi, on August 25, bringing together young speakers from across various AFFWA Regionals.
A total of 16 participants competed in the contest, demonstrating their public-speaking abilities through confidence, clarity of thought and conviction. An eminent six-member panel evaluated the performances in separate English and Hindi categories.
The English category was judged by Nandita Mukerji, author Sherry and Neelesh Kulkarni, while the Hindi category was evaluated by Senior Professor Dr Niranjan Kumar, Professor Punam Kumari and Dr Vibhavari. With contestants delivering strong performances, the judges faced a challenging task in selecting the winners.

In the English category, Master Lakshya Vats representing AFFWA (Regional) South Western Air Command (SWAC) emerged as the winner, while Master Redhaan Thakurdas from AFFWA (Regional) Central Air Command (CAC) secured the runner-up position.
In the Hindi category, Master Chirag Janmeda representing AFFWA (Regional) Western Air Command (WAC) was declared the winner. Miss Shipra Tripathi from AFFWA (Local) ASTE, Air Headquarters, finished as the runner-up.

The programme also featured cultural and special performances highlighting the talents of young participants. Master Rehaan Nazeer, a Class XI student of The Air Force School (TAFS), impressed the audience with his drumming performance.
Another highlight was the special presentation titled “Sapno Ki Udaan” by students of Umeed Vocational Training Centre (VTC) and Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute (AFGJI), Subroto Park. The performance added an inspirational dimension to the event.

Members of the judging panel also interacted with the participants and shared their “Pearls of Wisdom,” offering insights on developing confidence, effective communication, expression, perseverance and personal growth.
The AFFWA Declamation Contest 2026 concluded as a celebration of young talent and the power of effective communication, providing participants from across the Air Force community with a platform to express their ideas and demonstrate their public-speaking skills.
