Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with warmth and patriotic spirit as students from schools across Dehradun sent Rakhis to soldiers of the Uttarakhand Feeders, conveying messages of love, trust and gratitude to the personnel serving the nation.
The Rakhis carried by the students served as a cherished symbol of the emotional bond between the country’s young citizens and its soldiers. While the troops remain steadfast in their duties, the sacred threads served as a reminder that the nation stands firmly behind those entrusted with its security.
The celebrations reflected the traditional significance of Raksha Bandhan, with the Rakhi symbolising a promise of protection and an enduring relationship built on trust and affection. In the military context, the gesture also represented the collective gratitude of citizens towards the men and women who serve in uniform.

Officers and soldiers of the Uttarakhand Feeders also celebrated the festival with their families and children, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and togetherness. The participation of families added a personal dimension to the celebrations and highlighted the importance of support from loved ones in the lives of serving personnel.
The interaction between soldiers, children and families demonstrated how festivals can strengthen the connection between the Armed Forces and society. For the students, sending Rakhis offered an opportunity to express appreciation for the service and sacrifices of soldiers.
The occasion also carried a message of national unity, reminding the younger generation that the responsibility of safeguarding the nation is supported by a wider community that values and respects military service.
The traditional Sanskrit Raksha Bandhan verse, “येन बद्धो बलिराजा दानवेन्द्रो महाबलः। तेन त्वामनुबध्नामि रक्षे मा चल मा चल॥”, further reflected the sacred sentiment associated with the festival and the promise represented by the Rakhi.

The celebrations at the Uttarakhand Feeders therefore went beyond the exchange of Rakhis, becoming a meaningful expression of solidarity between soldiers and citizens.
The occasion reaffirmed the timeless bond of love, trust, duty and gratitude between the Armed Forces and the people, capturing the spirit of the celebration: one Rakhi, one promise and one nation.
