The Assam Rifles celebrated Raksha Bandhan with students and teaching staff of BC Olive School at Kiphire, Nagaland, on August 29, 2026, strengthening the bond between the security forces and the local community.
The celebration was attended by 89 students and 14 members of the teaching staff. The event brought together Assam Rifles personnel and the school community in an atmosphere of affection, mutual respect and togetherness.
As part of the celebrations, four specially-abled girl students tied Rakhis to Assam Rifles personnel, symbolising the traditional bond of protection and the trust between the community and those serving the nation.
In a reciprocal gesture, Riflewomen of the Assam Rifles tied Rakhis to the school’s boy students, highlighting the inclusive spirit of the festival and reinforcing the message of mutual care, respect and solidarity.
The interaction provided an opportunity for the students to engage closely with Assam Rifles personnel and experience the festival in a warm and welcoming environment.
The Raksha Bandhan celebration also served as a platform for strengthening the connection between the security forces and young people in the region. Such community-oriented initiatives contribute towards building trust, understanding and goodwill between the forces and the local population.
