Pashchim UP Sub Area honoured Colonel Basant Singh, AVSM, Mention-in-Despatches (Retd), on the occasion of his 93rd birthday, celebrating his distinguished life of courage, commitment and service to the nation.
Marking the occasion under the theme “93 Years of Service. One Unbreakable Legacy,” the formation paid tribute to the veteran officer and highlighted the enduring spirit of soldiers who continue to inspire generations long after hanging up their uniform.
On behalf of the General Officer Commanding, Pashchim UP Sub Area, the Colonel Veterans felicitated Col Basant Singh and conveyed warm wishes to him on the milestone occasion.
The interaction recognised his decades-long association with the Armed Forces and his distinguished service, reflected in the award of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and Mention-in-Despatches.
Pashchim UP Sub Area wished the veteran good health, happiness and many more years of honour, while underscoring that age may advance, but the spirit and values of a soldier continue to endure.
The felicitation also reflected the Indian Army’s tradition of maintaining a strong bond with its veterans and recognising their contribution and legacy of service to the nation.
