New Delhi: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has invited online applications from meritorious sportspersons for 521 vacancies of Head Constable (General Duty) and Constable (General Duty) under Sports Quota–2026. The recruitment notice, Advertisement No. R.II-21/2026-Sports dated 17 September 2026, has been issued by the Directorate General, CRPF, under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The drive is confined to eligible male and female Indian citizens who meet the prescribed educational standards and hold recognised sports achievements during the period from 30 September 2024 to 30 September 2026. The posts are Group “C”, non-gazetted and non-ministerial, and are temporary in the first instance, though they are likely to be made permanent. Selected personnel will have all-India service liability, including posting abroad.
Vacancy position
The 521 vacancies, described as tentative and subject to change for administrative reasons, are distributed as follows:

In addition to basic pay under the Seventh Central Pay Commission, appointees will receive dearness allowance, house rent allowance and other allowances admissible in the Force. The New Defined Contributory Pension Scheme will apply.
Vacancies are spread across 22 sports disciplines. The largest allocations are in athletics (101), aquatics covering swimming, diving and water polo (60), and shooting (53). Other disciplines include kabaddi, wrestling, football, boxing, wushu, volleyball, water sports (kayaking, canoeing and rowing), weightlifting, karate, judo, basketball, hockey, taekwondo, gymnastics, handball, yoga (yogasana), body building, badminton and archery. Candidates must apply only in the discipline and event for which they hold a valid certificate.
Eligibility
Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 23 years of age as on 1 August 2026. Relaxation in the upper age limit is available as per the relevant recruitment rules and sports-quota norms, including additional years for meritorious sportspersons and specified categories. Applicants should verify the exact date-of-birth band in the official notification.
Education: Head Constable (GD) requires 10+2 or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board or university, or the equivalent Army qualification in the case of ex-Army personnel. Constable (GD) requires matriculation or its equivalent from a recognised board. The prescribed educational qualification must be held on 11 November 2026.
Sports achievement: Only players who have represented the country, a State or Union Territory, a university, or a recognised school or junior/senior national set-up, or who have won medals or specified positions in competitions listed in the notification, during 30 September 2024 to 30 September 2026, are eligible. The standards differ for Head Constable and Constable posts. Certificates must relate to federations and bodies recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports or the Indian Olympic Association, as applicable. Candidates must upload proof of their highest medal, position or level of participation before submitting the application.
Selection process
There is no written examination. Candidates whose applications are found in order will receive online admit cards for:
- Identity and biometric verification
- Checking of testimonials and documents
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Sports Trial Test
- Detailed Medical Examination, with Review Medical Examination where applicable
The sports trial is qualifying in nature and carries no marks. Failure in the trial will result in rejection. Final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks assigned to sports certificates and achievements. A dope test may be conducted on the day of the trial. The genuineness of certificates may be verified at any stage.

Applications will be accepted only online at https://rect.crpf.gov.in. Offline applications will be rejected. Male candidates belonging to the Unreserved, OBC and EWS categories must pay a non-refundable fee of ₹100. Female candidates and those belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Ex-servicemen categories are exempted. Only one application for one post is permitted.
Candidates already in government or semi-government service will be required to produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of document verification.

Applicants should first create or update their profile on the CRPF recruitment portal, upload the relevant sports certificate, read the detailed advertisement carefully, complete the online form and pay the fee where applicable.
