New Delhi, September 23, 2026: Lieutenant General A K Ramesh, Sena Medal, Commandant of the College of Military Engineering (CME) and Colonel Commandant of The Madras Sappers, visited the Headquarters of the Director General Border Roads (DGBR) on September 23, 2026.
During the visit, Lt Gen Ramesh was briefed on various initiatives being undertaken by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to strengthen infrastructure development and enhance its operational capabilities across some of the country’s most challenging terrains.
The General Officer interacted with BRO Karmayogis and appreciated their exemplary work in difficult climatic and geographical conditions. He acknowledged the dedication and professionalism of BRO personnel involved in building and maintaining critical infrastructure in remote and strategically important areas.
Lt Gen Ramesh also reflected on his longstanding association with the Border Roads Organisation and conveyed his best wishes to its personnel as he prepares to superannuate from service on September 30, 2026.
As part of the transition in regimental responsibilities, Lt Gen Ramesh will hand over the baton of Colonel Commandant of The Madras Sappers to Lieutenant General Harpal Singh, AVSM, VSM. He extended his warm wishes to Lt Gen Harpal Singh for continued success in his new responsibility.
The Border Roads Organisation paid tribute to Lt Gen A K Ramesh for his distinguished service and enduring association with the organisation, acknowledging his contribution and commitment over the course of his military career.
