The Flying Instructors’ School (FIS), Indian Air Force, conducted the valedictory function of the 161st Qualified Flying Instructors Course (QFIC) on September 25, 2026.
Officers from the Indian Air Force, Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and friendly foreign countries graduated from the course as Qualified Flying Instructors.
The valedictory function marked the completion of the 161st Qualified Flying Instructors Course conducted by the Flying Instructors’ School. The course brought together officers from the Indian Armed Forces, Indian Coast Guard and friendly foreign countries for training as Qualified Flying Instructors.
The ceremony was reviewed by Air Marshal George Thomas, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, who was the Reviewing Officer for the occasion.
Air Marshal George Thomas reviewed the valedictory ceremony and complimented the passing out Qualified Flying Instructors on successfully completing the course.
The Reviewing Officer also commended the Flying Instructors’ School for its exceptional standards in shaping the future of military aviation training.
The graduation of officers from the Indian Air Force, Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard, along with officers from friendly foreign countries, reflected the participation of personnel from different services and partner countries in the Qualified Flying Instructors Course.
The 161st QFIC provided the participating officers with the qualification of Qualified Flying Instructors following the completion of the course at the Flying Instructors’ School.
Air Marshal George Thomas complimented the passing out QFIs and commended the exceptional standards maintained by the Flying Instructors’ School in the field of military aviation training.
The valedictory function marked the conclusion of the 161st Qualified Flying Instructors Course and the graduation of its participating officers as Qualified Flying Instructors.
The Reviewing Officer’s appreciation recognised both the achievement of the passing out QFIs and the standards of the Flying Instructors’ School in shaping future military aviation training.
