The Indian Army hosted the Annual Foreign Service Attachés Briefing 2026 at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, bringing together 65 Defence Attachés from 50 countries for discussions on contemporary challenges impacting global peace and security and India’s perspective on the evolving security environment.

The event provided a platform for deliberations on emerging security challenges and facilitated an exchange of perspectives on developments affecting global peace and security. The engagement also provided the participating Defence Attachés with an insight into India’s growing indigenous defence capabilities and the country’s emphasis on Atmanirbharta in defence.
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth interacted with the Foreign Service Attachés during the briefing and exchanged perspectives on emerging regional and global security challenges. The discussions also covered India’s security perspective and the strategic priorities of the Indian Army.
The interaction provided an opportunity for the Indian Army and representatives of foreign countries to exchange views on the evolving security environment and areas of mutual interest. The participation of Defence Attachés from 50 countries also facilitated wider engagement on contemporary issues affecting regional and global security.
