Tuensang, October 17, 2026: Assam Rifles has undertaken a community welfare initiative in Tuensang district of Nagaland by distributing computer sets to two children’s homes, aiming to promote digital education, improve computer literacy and create better learning opportunities for underprivileged children.
As part of the initiative, Assam Rifles personnel visited Kohdi Children Home and Bethel Home Orphanage in Tuensang, where computer sets were provided in response to requests received from the institutions.
The initiative seeks to strengthen educational facilities at both children’s homes by giving students access to computers and opportunities to develop essential digital skills.
With technology playing an increasingly important role in education and employment, access to computers can help children develop basic computer literacy, explore digital learning resources and acquire skills that may benefit their academic and professional futures.
The distribution of computer sets is expected to support the institutions in introducing computer-based learning activities and helping children become familiar with modern digital tools.
The initiative also reflects Assam Rifles’ continued involvement in community development and welfare activities across the northeastern region, where the force regularly undertakes programmes aimed at supporting education, healthcare and local communities.

Beyond its primary responsibility of maintaining security and assisting in border management, Assam Rifles has been actively engaged in civic action programmes designed to strengthen relations with local communities and contribute to social development.
Through such initiatives, the force seeks to encourage educational opportunities, support disadvantaged sections of society and promote long-term development in remote areas.

The assistance provided to Kohdi Children Home and Bethel Home Orphanage highlights the importance of improving access to digital education and ensuring that children from different backgrounds have opportunities to develop essential skills.
The initiative underscores Assam Rifles’ commitment to community welfare and its efforts to contribute to a more digitally empowered and educated younger generation in Nagaland.
