Dehradun, November 6, 2026: Former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa (Retd), PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VM, visited his alma mater, the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, on November 5, 2026, marking an inspiring homecoming to the prestigious military institution.
During his visit, the distinguished alumnus interacted with RIMC cadets, sharing valuable insights from his illustrious career in the Indian Air Force and his journey as a military leader. His interaction offered young aspiring officers an opportunity to learn from his extensive operational experience and leadership at the highest levels of the Armed Forces.
Addressing the cadets, Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa emphasised the importance of professionalism, courage, humility and unwavering commitment to military values. He encouraged them to develop the confidence to take calculated risks, make informed decisions and demonstrate integrity while fulfilling their responsibilities as future military leaders.

Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa served as the 25th Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force from December 31, 2016, to September 30, 2019. A highly decorated fighter pilot, he played a significant leadership role during several important developments in India’s air defence and military operations.
The visit held special significance for RIMC, an institution renowned for nurturing generations of military leaders who have gone on to serve the nation with distinction.
