8th Late Lady Cadet Stanzin Odzes Memorial Inter Village Ice-hockey Tournament

The locals discussed their problems with Brigadier MC Tamang, VSM for the lack of infrastructure as per international standards. The Brigadier assured them of support from military and civil departments.

A Project SADBHAVNA endeavour of the Chushul Brigade, the Tournament commenced at Tangtse amid traditional fanfare, under the shadow of COVID restrictions and protocols.
In the inaugural match, Chushul and Shachukul engaged in a well-fought draw, sharing four goals.


The week-long tournament saw seven teams participating, with the Finals held on 5 December, which Team Chushul won. The highlight was the first-ever participation of an all-women team, The Lalok Girls.

The locals of Lalok and Changthang region thanked the Indian Army for their support. They also highlighted that bringing the infrastructure to international standards would go a long way in development of the area and launching young kids into international Ice Hockey arena. Commander Chushul Brigade assured continued support of the Indian Army, as also improvement in the infrastructure in the coming years.
