General Upendra Dwivedi, who took charge as the 30th Chief of Army Staff on June 30, 2024, has been instrumental in modernizing the Indian Army. Under his leadership, the Army is rapidly advancing its capabilities through indigenous defence technologies, aligned with the Government of Indiaโs Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. His vision emphasizes operational excellence and strategic self-reliance.

Mrs. Sunita Dwivedi, who assumed office as AWWA President in July 2024, reaffirmed AWWAโs enduring mission to ensure the welfare of soldiersโ families. As the support pillar of Indiaโs Army community, AWWA has worked tirelessly for decades to empower war widows, promote education, and provide vocational training to Army families.
