Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi, during his ongoing visit to Spear Corps, called on Lieutenant General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik (Retd), Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, on September 18, 2025.
During the interaction, General Dwivedi lauded the resilience of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, describing them as the “sentinels of the Himalayas” who embody India’s unity and resolve.
He reiterated that the Indian Army remains steadfast in its mission to secure the nation’s borders, foster military civil synergy, and create avenues of peace, progress, and opportunities for the youth in the region.

The COAS further assured the Army’s commitment to strengthening preparedness along the eastern frontiers while simultaneously promoting prosperity and stability in the sensitive border state.
Both leaders also discussed initiatives to further enhance military civil cooperation and measures for veterans’ welfare, reaffirming a shared vision for regional development and the well-being of ex-servicemen.
