A solemn wreath laying ceremony was organised to pay homage to Naib Subedar Shyam Gurung and Rifleman Ranjit Singh Kashyap of the Assam Rifles, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on September 19, 2025.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of Hon’ble Governor of Manipur Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Lieutenant General R C Tiwari, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, and Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps. They laid wreaths and paid rich tributes to the valiant soldiers for their courage and devotion to duty.
Senior officers, troops of the Assam Rifles, and family members also joined in paying respects, remembering the unwavering commitment and sacrifice of the Bravehearts.
The solemn ceremony served as a reminder of the selfless service and dedication of India’s soldiers, who continue to safeguard the nation at great personal risk.
