Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Bikaner Military Station to review the operational preparedness of the formation and assess ongoing capability development initiatives in the strategically important desert sector. During the visit, he was comprehensively briefed on operational matters, technology infusion, integration with other security agencies, and various nation-building initiatives undertaken as part of the Whole-of-Nation Approach.
Addressing all ranks, including veterans of Bikaner, General Dwivedi commended their dedication, unwavering commitment to duty, and exemplary coordination in operating under the challenging conditions of the desert and semi-desert terrain. He stressed the critical importance of adopting advanced technologies at every level to maintain a decisive operational edge and ensure mission readiness in evolving security scenarios.
Highlighting the importance of military-civil fusion, the COAS acknowledged the pivotal role of veterans in strengthening Indiaโs defence preparedness and contributing to battlefield dominance. He praised the professionalism, commitment, and selfless service of the formationโs personnel, reaffirming the Indian Armyโs resolve to safeguard the nationโs frontiers.
General Dwivedi also visited the forward areas of Bikaner to assess ground-level preparedness and review capability enhancement efforts in the sector. He emphasised the need to harness cutting-edge technologies to effectively counter emerging security challenges.
During his interaction with troops, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, and civil dignitaries, the Army Chief lauded their seamless synergy and coordinated efforts in maintaining high operational readiness despite the harsh climatic conditions and difficult terrain of the Thar region. He concluded his visit by encouraging all stakeholders to continue their joint efforts towards ensuring national security and strengthening Indiaโs defence posture.
