0
INS-Kochi-Jahi-Shatrun-Mahabaho

Indian armed forces have made itself prepared in all aspects and going beyond its capabilities and muscles. Defense news and blogs are filled with the news of INS Kochi. This warship has made India more strong and bold in its defense state. INS Kochi has gathered enough fame in a short span of its commissioning.

Introduction

The keel of INS Kochi was laid in 2005 and was launched in 2009. It is 10th destroyer in the Indian’s destroyers list. Its Moto is “Jahi Shatrun Mahabaho” which means ‘Armed to conquer the enemy’. The stealth guided missile destroyer belongs to Project 15-A. 164 meters long and 17 meters in width, displaces 7,500 tons. It can attain a Speed up to 30 knots or 56 km/hr. The ship is powered by four gas turbine generators and one diesel alternator, producing 4.5 MW

The ship has got stealth features which were achieved by shaping the hull and radar transparent deck fitting. The bow mounted sonar dome is introduced to enhance the sonar acoustic performance.

What’s Special About it?

It is the largest warship made by India itself. Directorate on naval design has designed it, which is an organization under the Indian navy and was built by Mazagon Dock Ship builders’ Ltd in Mumbai. The ship is second in Indian navy and is among the few that has Multi-Function Surveillance and Threat Alert Radar (MF-STAR) that will help Long Range Surface to Air Missiles (LR-SAM) in targeting their prey. MF-STAR and LR-SAM are jointly developed by India’s DRDO and Israel Aerospace Industries LtdINS-Kochi-Jahi-Shatrun-Mahabaho

Weapon System

The warship has some special weapon system with elite targeting and sensory system. It includes Brahmos surface to surface missile, Anti-sub torpedoes and rockets, 76mm and 30 mm guns (for a median and short range airborne or surface threats can be neutralized by these guns) and long range surface to air missile system. The feature of MF-STAR is only installed on Kolkata class ships. The warship can operate two Chetak or Seaking helicopters.

Same of its kind

INS Kolkata of the same class was commissioned in august last year and next warship INS Chennai is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2016.it belongs to Project 15-A. All ships of this project are named after famous ports

Other Warheads in Indian Navy

India’s vikramaditya and indigenously developed INS Vikrant are the two aircraft carriers in the Indian Navy. INS Komorata, recently commissioned, is an anti-submarine warfare corvette is also a matter of pride for India. Shiwalik class multirole frigates, first made in India stealth warships is a star on India’s collar.

Indian navy comes in top 10 navies of the world and is all set to go head in the list. With the commissioning of INS Kochi, India is ready to dominate the seas. As per the global scenario, where India’s close neighbors, Pakistan and china, are accelerating their defense modernization, Indian is also required to do so with much fast pace. China’s activities in South China Sea are enough for India to predict their aim and goals. INS Kochi is a step to make India stronger but India need more such steps to get over others.

Green India- Green Highway Project

0
Green-India-Green-Highway-Project

With the escalation in population and high pace of pollution going on, every day a new record is marked. Nature is showing is its resistance to the outcomes of pollution leading to the several hazards and natural calamities. Some shows fast effect, but some shows slow impact over human life. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently during his US visit, had climate change as one of the topics of discussion with US president Barak Obama. India is not just talking about it, but taking steps in this direction. Newspapers and digital media are filled with the green highway policy that is launched this week.

Green highway policy is launched recently by the government as a step ahead to secure the nature along with employment generation. The policy is all about planting trees along the highways to make them a way of supporting the plantation drive.

Introduction

Currently the target is set to plant 6,000 km of highway in first year in which nearly 12,000 hectares of land is available. As per the sources, 1% of the total cost of highway construction project are to be dedicated to the green highway project, which can make around Rs1000 cr in a year. Ministry of road transport and highway is focusing on land acquisition for this project

Aim of project

The aim of this project is to reduce the pollution level in the air and overcoming soil erosion, side by side providing shade along the highways in hot summers, ultimately widening forest cover and simultaneously generating employment.

Other steps in this path

Highways constitute 20% of the roads of India handling 40% of the country’s traffic, making it a crucial part of India. Highways have been constructed over the land acquired from farmers or forest cover. So this project will recover the greenery that is vanished while facilitating the traffic. Adding to this, the officials revealed that every tree is audited and counted and will be monitored through ISRO’s Bhuvan and GAGAN satellite. Nitin Gadhkari announced that our country has innovated lithium oil battery. This battery, if used in state owned buses, will reduce the diesel import by 8 lakh crore leading to monetary and Eco friendly benefitGreen-India-Green-Highway-Project

Similar Approach

Similar plans are under the frame with the same aim of making India green. The government is planning to install CNG gas stations on selected highways Delhi – Agra, Delhi – Chandigarh, Delhi – Haridwar and Mumbai- Pune highways. The plan will encourage the use of CNG on long routes and reducing dependency over diesel and petrol. Well, CNG is encouraged in India as it is the fuel that when used in vehicles, emits less smoke (greenhouse gasses). It also increases the life of engine and is also proving to be safer than petrol and diesel. The only thing that is negative is that it need greater area for storage as compared to other popular fuels.

Such steps matters a lot when it comes to save the nature. Their proper implementation is necessary for getting expected outcomes. India is going on a high speed development and need to think about this phase and take effective steps.

Is Backlog Allowed in AFCAT and AFSB Interview 2016

6
Is Backlog Allowed in AFCAT and AFSB Interview

Dear aspirants as these are frequently asked questions by the defence aspirants, especially candidates who are applying for the AFCAT written test and AFSB interview, we are going to cover these backlog and percentage related questions for AFCAT and AFSB interview. In this article, we are going to clear the doubts of candidates regarding the backlog allowed in AFCAT and AFSB interview or not.

As per the latest AFCAT notification “Candidates should not have any present backlog and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together up to the last semester / year for which results have been declared at the time of online submission and at the time of SSB

Q. Can I apply for AFCAT with a present backlog?

  • Technically you are not allowed to apply for AFCAT if you have a current backlog, but there is another scenario about which we will talk below.

Q. I have written Backlog exam but haven’t got the result, am I eligible for AFCAT exam and AFSB interview?

  • This is the same case as above, without the result, you are considered with a backlog only. But, if you know till when you will get the result of backlog exam, you could delay your AFSB interview accordingly and wait for your written result and attend the SSB interview.

Q. I had a backlog but I have cleared it and I have the certificate for the same?

  • You are eligible if you have scored minimum 60% aggregate in all papers put together till the last semester for which you got the result and don’t have any backlog. Is Backlog Allowed in AFCAT and AFSB Interview

Q. I have not received my last year mark sheet, how can I submit the docs?

  • If you haven’t got the original mark sheet of any year, take an online result print out and attest it from your college head like Dean or Principle. Also, write an application regarding the same and get it signed by your college principle.

Q. I have cleared AFCAT but I don’t have 60%/ I have a backlog?

  • You are not eligible and you will be returned from the AFSB interview after the documents check.

Q. I have 60% aggregate but I have not counted the additional subject?

  • No, this is one of the biggest mistakes, you have to count each and every subject printed on your mark sheet to calculate the aggregate percentage, even though your university doesn’t count it but Airforce wants  you to add the marks of those subjects to calculate your aggregate percentage. So if you are going below 60% after adding all subjects, you are not eligible.

Q. I have a backlog/ less than 60% but I am sure before AFSB interview will get the result of it and I will clear my backlog with more than 60%.

  • In this case, you can apply for AFCAT and try your luck.

If you have any more questions do post them in the comment section below. We wish you more success in  upcoming AFCAT exams and AFSB interview.
