Around 7034 candidates have cleared the NDA written exam and going to face the SSB interview for Army, Navy and Airforce soon. On the basis of the result of the written part of the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination, (II) 2019 held by the Union Public Service Commission on 17th November, 2019, candidates with the under mentioned Roll. Nos. have qualified for interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB) of the Ministry of Defence for Admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of the National Defence Academy for the 144th Course and for the 106th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 2nd July, 2020. Cracked SSB Interview In 10th and Last Attempt

Hello everyone, my name is Nitin, I got recommended in my 10th and the last attempt from SSB Kapurthala via CDS entry on 10/oct/2019 and I am sharing my experience and strategies to help all folks out there which are striving hard and are determined to become army officers. DAY 1/ SCREENING: We were called one day earlier in the evening at Kapurthala on that day only documentation was done.

The next day began with the screening process. OIR was a bit harder as compared to other centers, 2 sets were there and both were updated one, SSBCRACK OIR ebooks, RS Aggarwal will be very helpful to prepare.
PPDT. A very blur picture of an old man wearing a coat background was not clear at all. Only 29 were screened in out of 95 who reported on the first day.

DAY 2/ PHYSIOLOGY: Practicing TAT, WAT, SRT at home with a timer will improve your response and you will be confident and comfortable while giving your physiology test.

I prepared my SD in advance so overall physiology was quite easy to me as some pics in TAT were repetitive.

DAY 3-4/GTO: First GD topic was which ongoing issue has the potential to turn into a worldwide war

  • Hongkong crises
  • Youth are very stressed nowadays, which could help them to overcome it Technology, professional mentoring, religious practices
  • In GD, some people make the mistake by being dominant or either not speaking at all. Try to make a balance, speak in a clear and confident voice. Reading newspapers will help you for sure.
  • • In GPE be attentive, as even a second of distraction will lead to a big loophole in your final plot. Be cooperative with your group. I gave the conclusion after the GPE and it went well
  • • For PGT, HGT, FGTand other tasks just listen to the briefing of instructions clearly and be cool, calm and confident. By seeing the structure carefully you will be able to draw a solution.

• Command task was a bit difficult as GTO sir made my subordinate to go back and asked me to solved alone handling all the helping material alone, by analyzing the structure and using my helping material I was able to complete the task on time.

DAY 3/Interview( on the same day in GTO dress ): Interview sir started with the rapid-fire and asked a few mathematical conversion questions like converting speed from km\hr to m\sec and direction based question.

As I was from ECE branch I was asked questions regarding radars, radiowaves and microwaves were also asked.

Most of the question were from PIQ only. I would advise that you know yourself in detail, carefully fill the PIQ form as it plays a very crucial role and be attentive to the question asked by the interviewer. Try to be brief, clear and confident while giving your response. Prepare for the basic technical question if you are going for technical entry and know about the arm you have applied for in detail like army, navy or airforce. 

 Know about your strength, weakness, what you have done to improve them, sports you play, your role in your family, about your friend, teachers and spare time activities.

DAY 5/ Conference: I was made to sit for 10 minutes outside the conference and inside the conference, I was asked that if I am very satisfied in my corporate life why I want to join the defense force. Also to rate my performance and then I was asked to leave.

When the results were announced I was the only one who was recommended from 29 candidates, I called my parents and my mentor Brig Dixit to tell them the good news and I also want to thank SSBCrack as it well repeaters like me by providing the success stories which fill me with energy and enthusiasm.

Educational Qualification

Eligible candidates will be sent Provisional Admit Cards for Phase – I of testing on their respective e-mail IDs during the month of February 2020 (which they will download & take colour printout & will carry the same to the examination centre on the day of online test as indicated on their respective Admit Cards) to appear in the Selection Test at the examination centres allotted to them. Indian army has decided to close OTA Gaya and move the cadets to IMA Dehradun. Sources in the Army said it was getting evidently infeasible to run the OTA in Gaya due to lesser number of cadets every year.
After the infamous war in Kargil , an increased demand for Army jobs and requirement for more infrastructure for training personnel were contemplated. An army officer informed that however, it clearly did not happen. The number of people who could qualify as officers in the Army was unexpectedly much lesser in number.
Even OTA Chennai faced quite a challenge to fill up half of its available seats as, the officer remarked, Short Service Commission did not come across as an attractive option for people willing to join the Army. He then went on to say that IMA Dehradun had been training about 300 cadets less than its usual strength of 1,650 cadets.

However, the officer added, that the idea to shift the cadets from Gaya to IMA was to utilize the latter fully in terms of its capacity. Other factors were also contributing to the similar idea, one of them being Gaya’s weather, which is excessively humid and unsuitable for military training practices.
However, a second Army officer, when asked about the acute shortage of officers in the force, was of the opinion that such a move could affect plans to maximize the number of in-house officers through promotions from the ranks.

The source went to include further that the quality of officers who got commissioned into the Army from OTA, Gaya, were among the finest, though steps should be taken in the longer run to improve the strength of the cadets instead of going for any other alternatives.

6 Attempts, 3 Recommendations, 2 Merit Outs, Made It Finally

Hello, I’m Hardik. I’m Btech in ECE and I’m from Delhi. I’ve given total 6 attempts of SSB before making it in merit for ICG Assistant Commandant. And the journey had not been smooth. I gave my 1st SSB attempt in March 2018 for AFCAT entry in Varanasi, AFSB-4. I got recommended there. There I had my CPSS for flying branch. I cleared it too. But fate had some other plans and I got medically unfit for flying branch but got fit in ground duties from which I eventually got merit out. That was the highest point of setback in my life. But after 10 days of my merit release I had another SSB lined up. I grabbed the strength and went for it. 2nd attempt was in Bangalore SSB-12 for Indian Navy. I got recommended in that one too but again got merit out! Again, demotivation. Again got up and courageously went for my next SSBs.

3rd and 4th attempts were from AFCAT entry AFSB-1 Dehradun and ICG entry Noida respectively. And I got conference out from both of them. Heartbreaking. But after so many attempts you already become a fauji in a sense and you just don’t give up.

5th attempt was again ICG, and I got recommended there, cleared medicals and everything. But I had stopped relying of merit lists now so I kept on trying for every entry possible.

Recent was my 6th attempt again from AFCAT entry, again in Varanasi. And I got the worst failure of all my SSB journey when I got screened out for the first time. That was the final nail in the coffin and that’s when I decided to have other things in mind apart from SSBs and have some other back up exams too.

While I was considering other exams and career opportunities, this merit list showed up with my name there! Lesson learnt : After your lowest comes your highest.

Many setbacks came. SSB and non SSB related, but I never let anything hamper my SSB performance, nor was I casual in any attempt. SSBCrack has helped me a lot in all my attempts and I’m glad I took help from them. I have learned a lot from their tips and suggestions. 

Ups and downs are inevitable. But as Winston Churchill said “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” That’s the only way out.

10 Top Tips To Clear INET Exam

INET also is known as Indian Navy Entrance Exam was conducted for the first time by the Indian Navy for officers rank through an online written test, this year in 2019. Earlier, only male candidates were being inducted into the Indian Navy through CDS exam and similarly, both men and women could apply for other direct entries in the Indian Navy. But many aspirants especially female candidates, who have been willing to join the Indian Navy were not getting enough chances in the Indian Navy. However now, the problem has been solved and equal opportunities are being provided to both male and female candidates to pursue their dreams of getting inducted in the Indian Navy through INET.

INET (Officers) Exam is to have four sections, viz English, Reasoning and Numerical Ability, General Science and Mathematical Aptitude, and General Knowledge. Candidates will need to score qualifying marks in each section to be considered for SSB call up. Candidates will be called up for SSB interview on the basis of their performance in INET (Officers) online test and their entry preference. To be considered for final Merit List, candidates would need to qualify in SSB Interview and the subsequent Medical Examination. Merit List will be drawn up on the basis of marks scored in INET (Officers) Exam and SSB marks. Selected candidates will undergo Basic Training at the Indian Naval Academy.

To score high marks in your INET exam, you need to be well prepared with the INET exam syllabus content & simultaneously, follow some below-mentioned tips to succeed in the INET exam.

1. Be Aware of the INET Syllabus

You should know all the topics for English, Reasoning and Numerical Ability, General Science and Mathematical Aptitude, and General Knowledge mentioned in the INET exam syllabus. Prepare accordingly for each topics to be covered under each main section for the exam. Concentrate more on those topics about which you are not feeling confident of. Start preparing and studying for them first.

2. Stay Updated with Current Affairs

You should always be updated on all the current issues happening around the world. In INET exam, GK Paper questions are asked based on current affairs.

3. Practice Your Maths Problems & Remember Important Formulas

Start practising Mathematical problems and questions every day. Write down important formulas in a chart and put the charts in front of your study table. Try to memorize & remember them quite often.

4. Do Not Get Intimidated by Grammar & Vocabulary  in English

Don’t worry about remembering English Grammatical rules & vocabulary. Take the help of good English Grammar books & Vocabulary books available in the market. Do not start memorizing them, but use them in the form of writing and conversations to get familiar with them. Also read the grammar rules everyday & try to learn 10 new words daily. Take the help of Dictionaries & Thesaurus to learn & know better.

5. Think Logically for Reasoning

Reasoning is easy if you get the concepts clear & if you are thinking in a logical way. Start practising & solving out puzzles and questions of Reasoning like playing a game, and it will be quite a fun to score full marks in Reasoning.

6. Manage your Time Accordingly

Time management is a difficult thing to do in the examination hall if you have not done so while practising the questions back at your home. So start managing your time from now. Keep a clock at your desk, set a stopwatch in the clock or in your mobile, while you are solving questions at your home. Divide your time accordingly as INET Exam will need you to solve a total of 100 questions from 4 sections in 2 hours.

7. Start Taking Online Mock Tests

As the INET exam is an online test, you need to practice taking mock tests online once you are well acquainted with all the topics of the exam syllabus. Online Test is a different mode of exam procedure than the usual pen & paper testing method. Hence you need to be well aware of the online mode of exam, its pros & cons before your D-day.

8. Give Equal Importance to All Topics & Questions

Remember, all questions are important. As each section in the INET exam will consist of 25 marks amounting to 100 marks in total, you should also not forget about the qualifying marks for each section. While you need to score at least 20 marks each in English & Reasoning and Numerical Ability Sections, 10 is the passing marks for General Science and Maths & General knowledge, each. Therefore it is better not to take any topic lightly and to give equal importance to all the topics and the sections, while preparing for & taking the exam.

306 new officers joined the Army after graduating from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun on Saturday. The smart march-past by Gentlemen Cadets, in the backdrop of the famous Chetwood building, left the audience spellbound. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was the reviewing officer and praising the young officers he said, “I can confidently say that the future of Indian Army’s leadership is in safe hands.” The Gentlemen Cadets showed tremendous enthusiasm, vigour and zeal to put up an excellent parade before the Union Defence Minister. The Reviewing Officer presented the coveted sword of honour and gold medal to Vinay Villash for standing first in overall order of merit. Uttar Pradesh with 56 officers topped the list of producing the maximum number of officers among all other states in this batch. Haryana with 39, Bihar with 24 and Rajasthan with 21- finished second, third and fourth respectively in the all India tally of states.

OTA Gaya Passing Out Parade POP 07 Dec 2019

A total of 91 cadets on Saturday were commissioned as officers in the Army during the 16th passing out parade at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) here. Of the 91 newly inducted officers, four cadets were from Bhutan and five were from Assam Rifles. Lt General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Vietnam People’s Army was the reviewing officer of the passing out parade, while Lt Gen PC Thimmaya, PVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command, was the chief host. Lt General Tien, who arrived at the venue in a ceremonial horse-drawn carriage, was welcomed by Lt Gen PC Thimmaya. Lieutenant General Sunil Srivastava, VSM and Bar, Commandant, Officers’ Training Academy, Gaya was also present on the occasion.

The reviewing officer gave away various awards to the gentlemen cadets who performed well during the training. Wing Cadet Captain Shivam Singh was awarded ‘Sword of Honour’ and the gold medal, while the silver medal was given to Wing Cadet Shubham Shahi and the bronze medal to Wing Cadet Quarter Master Kamat Abhishek Gopalkrishna.

Addressing the parade, which included six Vietnamese Gentlemen Cadets, the General Officer congratulated the gentlemen cadets for their excellent deportment and drill. General Tien urged the future officers to make their nation and their alma mater proud by rendering selfless and honourable service.

He also stressed on imbibing the virtues of military ethos and soldierly qualities. The OTA in Gaya is the third pre-commissioning military academy in the country and was raised on July, 2011 apart from Dehradun and Chennai. Gaya OTA was raised with a motto ‘Shaurya Gyan Sankalp’ (Courage, Knowledge and Resolve).

The OTA was established near Paharpur village on Gaya-Dobhi main road to train both new entrants and serving Army personnel in different conventional as well as non- conventional warfare. At present, the academy conducts training for Technical Entry Scheme and Special Commissioned Officer entries, popularly known as TES and SCO respectively.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed Passing out Parade of Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun on Dec 07. The passing out parade was being held on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day to honor India’s bravehearts. The event is held twice a year by the Indian Military Academy. The passing out parade is the most spectacular among the end-of-term events at Indian Military Academy. 377 Gentlemen Cadets of 145 Regular Course, 128 Technical Graduate Course, including 71 Gentlemen Cadets from ten friendly foreign countries passed out from the portals of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun on 07 Dec 2019.
