Tejas Not Fit For Navy
Tejas Not Fit For Navy

Tejas, the indigenous aircraft of India, has been ones gain dragged into the limelight after Indian navy refused to use it. Admiral Lanba openly said that Tejas, manufactured by HAL, does not meet the requirement of the India Navy. The naval variant of the aircraft now came under allegations. As per the sources, the next option for the Indian navy to fulfill the need of the aircrafts is to opt the way out toward foreign sources. The maiden flight of the naval version of Tejas took place in 2012. Currently Indian navy is using Mig 29 over its aircraft carrier Vikramaditya. The main question still revolves around the replacement of the Mig -29 for naval operations. Admiral Lamba also asserted that AMCA, the upcoming 5th generation indigenous aircraft of India, will be considered if the manufacturer and Indian government will plan to manufactures it naval variant. He also added that growing links between China and Pakistani naval authorities are being constantly checked. Recent port call of Chinese submarine at Karachi port was also mentioned by the Admiral.

Earlier, some other problems were reported in the aircraft. Its maintenance ability, performance shortcomings, lack of internal jammers and other issues were kept in mind before heading toward MK-II of the aircraft, which was proposed to have more endurance and capabilities. But as per the sources, the government is not in any interested position to focus on the enhanced version of the aircraft.

In the beginning of this year, some nations like Egypt and Srilanka have indicated their inclination toward Tejas aircraft. Srilanka headed to India for Tejas after rejecting Pakistani aircraft JF-17. These nations opted Tejas after Tejas performed well in Bahrain air show, where Pakistan withdrew JF-17 after initial decision of participating in it.

Conclusion – Tejas has been seen as the alternate to remove the dearth of the aircrafts and a replacement of the aging aircraft in the Armed Forces. Indian Air Force is already going through the shortage of 9 squadrons in its force. Moreover, the aircraft has been chosen by Indian government for export to other nations and further installation of Kaveri engine will make it more favorable for exports. But it need to get over the requirements of its home nation first in order to fulfill its cause of production. Well, the manufacturing authorities are working hard to provide best aircraft to Armed Force to bring up their capabilities and get over the expectations of the Armed Forces.

Tejas To Get Kaveri Engine

Tejas To Get Kaveri Engine
Tejas To Get Kaveri Engine

Tejas, the homegrown aircraft that was aimed to fulfil the acute dearth of squadrons and replacement of aging Russian aircrafts in the Indian air force, has been in the news for a long time. Earlier, the delays in the project took it into the limelight. The ambitious project of Tejas, which is also known as LCA i.e. Light Combat Aircraft, had several turns in its journey till now. It once again came into the news for its engine issues.

Recently, French company, Snecma came ahead to revive Kaveri engine of Tejas and will make it capable of flight in Tejas. As per the plan, the Kaveri engine will be installed in Tejas prototype in 2018 and its flight testing will be scheduled in 2020. As per the sources, Kaveri engine will power Tejas MK-1, which has been ordered in bulk by the IAF. Some allegation of installation of this engine in Ghatak UCAV are being surfaced. The efficiency of Kaveri will be improved by Snecma and this will in turn give a positive signal to the international buyers of aircrafts as the engine has kept its performance better with an affordable pricing. At present, the engines used in Tejas aircrafts is F-404 of GE, which is imported from the U.S. The enhancement of Kaveri will further open the ways for Indian manufacturers to come up with a suitable engine for AMCA aircraft. The test of Kaveri installed Tejas were held by 18 months as reported by the DRDO sources. The project to manufacture the engine was initiated in 1986, which later on got delayed several times. The cost of manufacturing the engine has also increased.

Some basic specifications of Tejas are

  • Speed – 1.6-1.8 Mach
  • Range – 3000 kms
  • Ceiling – 16 kms
  • Pilot crew – 1
  • Single Engine Aircraft

As per the project details, the aircraft will have some variants like Trainer, Naval variant and Mark 2. The current Tejas is the MK-1 version, which is being used and is under improved. The aircraft will be made efficient to carry almost all kinds of missiles like Astra, Paython, anti-radiation missile etc. that will make it the best in all kinds of operations. The next version of it i.e. Mark 2 will be the improved version of Mark 1.

Conclusion – Indian defence companies are working hard to bring out best accessories and equipment in Tejas in order to make it a world class aircraft to remove the shortage of Aircrafts in IAF. The aircraft will be further integrated with more enhanced and latest technologies to make it the best substitute to replace the aging Russian aircrafts in Indian Ari force and deter the enemies. This aircraft is also a good option for other developing nation as the Indian government is considering its plan to export it to some nations.

The Influential Moves By China

0
The Influential Moves By China
The Influential Moves By China

China has been in a status of strong economic and defense condition from past few months. Looking at the high pace of manufacturing of weapons and war machines, China has been estimated to take over other developed nations in defense strength in upcoming decades. But recent actions of China to lure other small nations have been termed as a signal for India.

Recently Bangladesh got its first set of two submarine, which were delivered on 14th November. As per the sources, Bangladesh paid $ 203 million for it. The deal was a sign of the rising bonds between both the nations and growing economic stability of Bangladesh. Earlier in 2013, the Bangladeshi government has signed deals with Russia for purchasing fighter jets, helicopters and anti-tank missiles. The deal for submarines was taken into consideration to improve its maritime security and getting leveled with other nations in defense and security field. China has also shown its deep interest in Nepal, last year, by signing a deal for fuel export to Nepal. Pakistan has also got maximum support from China in defense (Yuan class submarines) and economic (Gwadar port) field.

Apart from this, Donald Trump’s is being alleged to show his interest in investing in the ambitious project of One Belt One Road, an ambitious project of China. The chief of AIIB (Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank) has signaled the allegation of it. The head of AIIB told media that Obama was not right for it and Donald will be a right person for investment. The project OBOR is the project to revive the ancient silk route and is seen as the new step to enhance and raise the economic ties between Asian nations.

Coming to the defense enhancement of the China, China has been assumed to have completed the manufacturing of its aircraft carrier “Lioning” and now it is ready for combat. It was purchased from Ukraine as just a hull and was commissioned in 2013. China has not come up with any specific use of it that could be deploying it on the disputed territory of South China Sea or using it for training purpose for its officers and soldiers. As per the sources, China is reported to be manufacturing a completely indigenous aircraft carrier and the progress is in full swing. The performance of the aircraft carrier was reported to be lagging behind the carriers of the U.S. carriers, but some of its features, like maintenance, have been appreciated by the U.S. authorities.

Conclusion – The economic stability and escalated defense involvement has made China lead the Asian nations. The south Asian nations have been either influenced by India or by China. China has been seen attracting small Asian nations in order to retain its power in the Indian Ocean region. Moreover, China has made its bold impact over other nations by giving proposals of weapons and warheads to them, prominently to Pakistan and now to Bangladesh. India is also preparing itself to bring out the best of it, to come out with a strong force by recovering the squadron dearth in the Indian air force and other such steps. India has made certain strong moves to counter China and will make its way to keep its hold over IOR.

G.K. – G.K. is the main part of the exam and the decider of your selection. The candidates have to excel themselves more in G.K. It is not a scoring part of the exam. You need to get passing marks in it and score in the other two papers. G.K. consists of questions related to the subjects of science, commerce and arts, some military basics and current affairs. For that you need to perform well in your respective subjects and brush up your current affair knowledge. Take help of online current affairs websites, periodicals, magazines or other sources for raising your current affairs knowledge.

English – In English, aspirants must start reading newspaper, especially editorial pages. Focus on the vocabulary and sentence arrangements. Candidates who are not good at English need to make a good grip over it to get over the sectional cut-off.

Maths – Maths is the lengthiest part of the exam. Most of the candidates are capable of performing well in maths. Those who see English as a backdrop, can take maths as a scoring part. All that matters in maths section is the speed coupled with the accuracy of your answer. Trigonometry and geometry puzzles candidates. Usually calculus part is easy to attempt. Keep practicing form sample papers and practice papers.

So put your efforts and ensure your success in the exam. Try to score more in English or maths and get optimum marks in G.K.. Negative marking can take you down in G.K. attempt only those on which you have confidence. 2 hours are sufficient to attempt English and G.K., but manage your time in maths. Start preparation from this moment and give your best in the exam

M777 Light Howitzer Gun Deal between India and U.S.

0
M777 Light Howitzer Gun Deal between India and U.S.
M777 Light Howitzer Gun Deal between India and U.S.

The deal of purchasing 145 guns has been accelerated by both India and U.S. The deal is seen as a bold step of India to enhance the defense forces of India as it is the first deal of purchasing guns after Bofors scandal in 1980s. Cabinet committee on security has approved the deal of Ultra-Light Howitzer guns that will cost about Rs 5,000 Crore to India. The delays in the deal have led to the rise in the cost of the deal by about $ 100 million. The sources also said that the two sides have discussed the views over predator drone along the sides of the M777 guns. The actual proposal of guns was about 10 years back. Now let’s have a brief account of the matter.

About M77 Guns

The gun is 155mm 39 Caliber gun. India has ordered 145 such guns. The deal was to acquire M-777A2, which is an updated version of M-777A1. As per the sources, the guns will replace the Bofors guns in future. The gun is efficient enough to fire 5 rounds per minute, which makes it a good choice. The digital fire control system of the gun helps it to fire at the accurate targets at long range. Other elite features of the gun are Laser Inertial Artillery Pointing Systems (LINAPS), Low-Rate Initial Production LIRP and Towed Artillery Digitization (TAD), which gives it more power to strike.

Why India chose them?

The guns are best suited for Indian terrains. The guns can give their best in the high mountainous terrains, which is the crucial part of the Indian border. The guns are also reported to be easily transported by the helicopters and can be towed on the roads too. The gun is known for its capability and mobility and also it’s proved performance in various ranges of temperatures. The main aim of purchasing the guns was to arm the mountain crops of India that was raised in 2013.

What Ahead?

The producer of the guns, BAE, is expected to be planning to get into a deal with Mahindra Defence for manufacturing the same guns. But the joint production of the guns is not so easy due to some technical issues like titanium technology and barrel manufacturing, which are chief concerns for the production of the guns.

Other deals with U.S.

U.S. has been a crucial defense exporter for India in the past. India has a deal for purchasing Chinook and Apache helicopters from U.S. Apart from this, purchasing U.S. Drone Predator is also a fresh issue. Earlier, India has signed a deal with U.S. for P-8 Poseidon. LEOMA is also a great achievement for India to bolster the U.S. India defense ties. C-17 Globemaster and C-130J Hercules planes were also bought by India from U.S. that increased the transport capabilities of Indian air force.

M777 Light Howitzer Gun Deal between India and U.S.
M777 Light Howitzer Gun Deal between India and U.S.

Conclusion – The Indian Armed Forces have brought the defense mechanics to a new era, where S-400, Brahmos, Barak-8 and other new generation weapons. The induction of M777 guns will improve the security of India and will be a bead in the India U.S. relations. India is currently engaged in finalizing Rafale deal with France to recover the lacking squadron in India Air Force and the government has taken a good step by point toward M777 to raise the defense capabilities of India. As per the scenario, Indian government seems to be parallel toward emphasizing on indigenous manufacturing as well as foreign procurement which is the need of the hour.
