Tips for Written Exam:

  • Make your own study plan after analysing the complete syllabus and previous year question papers, all available on UPSC Website
  • Make a list of topics you want to leave for the exam as risks should be avoided at any costs due to negative marking. And make other topics your strength by focusing on problem solving
  • Focus on clearing concepts from NCERT books as recently many questions especially in maths were basic definitions of terms.
  • Keep attempting regular mock tests and analyse your performances to work on weak areas. Focus on accuracy first and then move to speed.
  •  For current affairs follow the trend of questions asked from this subject and prepare as per that otherwise current affairs as a whole is too vast to complete. Same for other subjects.

Result of written exam and SSB call-up letter:

Result of written exam is released by UPSC on its website through a pdf which contains the name and roll number of candidates. Succesful candidates  who have cleared the exam for first time need to register through their e-mail id(used while filling the form) on joinindianarmy portal within two weeks of declaration of result. It is mandatory for the candidate to register himself otherwise he will not get his SSB call-up.

On this portal will be the allocation of SSB Centres and a week’s time will be allotted to the candidates for selection of selection of SSB dates. If candidate doesn’t choose a date the System will allocate a random date.

After selection of dates usually call-up letters are sent to candidates by post.

But nowadays except SCS Allahabad none of the SSBs do so. Instead candidates are advised to download the common call-up letter available in downloads section of joinindianarmy website.

Candidates are advised to go through the call-up letter religiously and first arrange all the requisite documents and dress/uniform as given in call-up letter.
