Only Women To Participate In Republic Day 2024

Republic Day 2024 Embraces an All-Woman Affair: Female Participation in Marching Contingents, Bands, Tableaux, and Performances Only

As part of a continued effort to empower women (Nari Shakti), the Government of India is set to organize the Republic Day parade in 2024, showcasing the participation of women exclusively in all activities along the Kartavya Path. This historic decision marks the first time the government has taken such an initiative.

According to defense sources who spoke to ANI, the ceremonial branch of the Ministry of Defense, responsible for organizing the Republic Day parade in collaboration with various ministries and departments, has circulated a note to all defense forces and key stakeholders.

The note states that after careful deliberation, it has been determined that Republic Day 2024 will feature women’s participation in various aspects, including contingents (marching and bands), tableaux, and performances along the Kartavya Path.
